My Five Favorite Books on Presidential Children

I recently contributed a list of my five favorite books about presidential children on the new website Shepherd.com. It’s a cool site in which authors discuss some of their favorite books in the same genre as their own publications.
In promoting my book, Giant in the Shadows: The Life of Robert T. Lincoln (as the site owner requested), I looked around my library and thought the subgenre of presidential children was an unrepresented/unrealized one pretty much everywhere. Of course, there’s not a lot of such books to choose from, but the five I chose are definitely worth reading.
Here’s my list:
  1. John Quincy Adams: A Public Life, a Private Life, by Paul C. Nagel
  2. Lincoln’s Sons, by Ruth Painter Randall
  3. Alice: Alice Roosevelt Longworth, from White House Princess to Washington Power Broker, by Stacy A. Cordery
  4. My Father at 100, by Ron Reagan
  5. Ambling Into History: The Unlikely Odyssey of George W. Bush, by Frank Bruni
Please take a few minutes to read my complete article, and then let me know what you think in the comments section!
